Malaysian Super League bottom side Sime Darby pulled off the biggest surprise in the Round of 16 of the Malaysian FA Cup by defeating in-form PDRM 4-2.
PDRM were missing talisman Ali Ashfaq through an injury but looked capable in his absence when current Malaysian Super League top scorer Dramane Traore found the back of the net as early as in the first minute.
Just when it seemed the Cops would run riot following the early goal, Dilshod Sharofetdinov and Ivan Dragicevic popped up in the 44th and 50th minute to give Sime Darby a 2-1 lead.
PDRM managed to restore parity through Mohamadou Sumareh, but a Nemanja Vidakovic brace ensured the Giant Killers' progression to the next round, where they will face Kelantan who defeated Kuala Lumpur 1-0.
At the Ipoh Stadium, T-Team had an early lead against Perak thanks to Farhod Tadjiyev, but Namkung Woong immediately equalised for the home side before netting his second to secure a 2-1 comeback win and book his team's first appearance in the quarter-finals since 2011.
Also making their long overdue return to that stage are the yet-to-be-beaten Premier League side Penang, who defeated NS Matrix 2-1 despite conceding an early goal.
The final match of the night involved Kedah and JDT II at the Darul Aman Stadium, with the latter advancing thanks to a late strike by Akram Mahinan.
The only matches left in the Round of 16 are Selangor-Terengganu, Pahang-MISC MIFA and LionsXII-Putrajaya SPA.
The winners of the abovementioned ties will face Perak, Penang and JDT II respectively.
