Malaysian football legend Dollah Don has passed away peacefully today at the age of 91 due to old age.
Born in Stulang Laut, Johor in 1923, Haji Abdullah Don was widely considered one of the greatest Malaysian players and actively played for the country during the 1940s and 1950s.
He also turned out for Johor, Peninsular Malaya and Singapore Malays during his playing days.
His efficiency in front of the goal led to Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno, nicknaming him ‘Harimau Malaya’, a moniker that has since been inherited by the national team.
He was also named in FourFourTwo's Top 25 Malaysian Players of All Time earlier this year.
