Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) midfielder Gary Steven Robbat is hoping to start the match against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night.
As part of their 2015 Asia Tour, Borussia Dortmund will play against the Southern Tigers at the Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium.
Robbat, who last started in JDT’s 1-1 draw with Pahang on June 27, hopes that he will be in contention for a starting place for that match.
"I am very excited for it," the 22-year-old told FourFourTwo Malaysia at Padang Seri Gelam on Wednesday.
“I am not sure if the head coach [Mario Gomez] will put me in the starting line-up against Dortmund, but I really hope he will.”
The Harimau Malaya midfielder has a soft spot for the German giants, as he was sent to train with their second team earlier this year after he was temporarily suspended from participating in all football activities in Malaysia.
“My time at Dortmund was short, but I feel I learned a lot,” he added.
“With their advanced training facilities and technology, such as the Footbonaut, it was a very good exposure for me.”
