Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) star Patito Rodriguez has ruled himself out of the remainder of the Malaysian Super League season.
Rodriguez revealed on his Instagram account that he will be sidelined for three months after picking up an injury during JDT’s 1-0 win over Terengganu on June 23rd.
The 25-year-old Argentine did not reveal the actual cause of his injury, but it was suspected to be a fractured leg.
“Thanks for everything to everyone,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Thank you, boss, doctors, coach and team-mates for their support.
“I hope to return as soon as possible to wear this [JDT] shirt.”
The length of his injury means that he will not be playing any part in the Southern Tigers’ title defense, as the league is scheduled to end on August 29th.
JDT have yet to comment on the extent of his injury.
