The Spanish giants were delighted with the atmosphere and fans in their 2-0 win over Selangor.
It was all smiles as over 35,000 football fans witnessed the friendly match between Malaysian Super League side Selangor and UEFA Europa League champions Sevilla at the Shah Alam Stadium on Monday.
"We will definitely want to come back here," beamed Sevilla manager Unai Emery after the game as his players enjoyed the positive vibes from the crowd.
"We hope Sevilla enjoyed their stay in Malaysia. We would like to thank them for this opportunity for our football fans and loyal supporters to witness them in the flesh," said Selangor FA Deputy President Dato Mokhtar Ahmad after the match.
Despite the Red Giants' best efforts to hold the fort, Piotr Trochowski gave the lead for the Spanish side on the half-hour mark with a stunning long-range strike before Diogo Figueiras doubling the visitors’ lead.
The match took place under the umbrella of the LFP World Challenge, which aims to bring the Spanish Football League closer to all its fans around the world.
