The Turtles are looking to strengthen their title challenge with the addition of Jaime Braganca in the April transfer window.
Terengganu head coach Abdul Rahman Ibrahim confirmed the new signing following his side’s 3-1 FA Cup victory over Selangor on Wednesday.
Braganca, who underwent a trial in February, will take up the Asian slot in the team’s foreign player quota following the departure of Lebanese midfielder Hassan Chaito, whose contract was terminated earlier this season after suffering a long-term injury.
Despite being born in Portugal, he is eligible to take up the slot because he holds an East Timorese passport.
After starting his career at Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, the 31-year-old midfielder travelled around the world and played in other countries such as Bahrain, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania and Brazil.
He previously also had short stints in Southeast Asia, having turned out for Persija Jakarta in Indonesia and Chonburi in Thailand.comments
