Thai and EPL legends go head to head

The Emerald EPL Masters Tour has kicked off in Phuket, with two teams of footballing legends set to lock horns on August 10 at the Surakul Stadium.

Just a week out from the start of the English Premier League season, the idyllic resort town of Phuket will be filled with football lovers eager to catch some of their idols in the flesh.

Masters Football Asia, in partnership with Emeral Phuket Development have brought a team of EPL legends down to the island, with the likes of Lee Sharpe, Robbie Fowler, Louis Saha and Stephane Henchoz set to thrill the crowd on Sunday against a Thai Legends team.

The local heroes have a reputation to uphold too, having previously won the indoor 6-a-side "Thailand Masters Trophy" back in 2012, beating the Liverpool Masters, Manchester United Masters and an EPL All-Star team.

The match on Sunday, August 10, will involve two halves of 40 minutes each, with rolling substitutions allowed.

In the event of a tie after regulation time, the match will be decided on penalties.
