Angola on lookout for new coach

LUANDA - Angola are searching for a new national team coach to replace Mabi de Almeida (pictured), the country's Football Federation secretary general Augusto Silva was quoted as saying on Tuesday.

The national team has not won a match since de Angolan national Almeida took over as coach at the end of last year and are keen to improve their form ahead of the African Nation's Cup, which the country will host next January.

Silva told state-owned news agency Angop that the federation was looking for a new coach but denied local media reports that it was in talks with former Brazil and Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari or Egypt's Al Ahly coach Manuel Jose.
