Bayern striker Olic out for six weeks

BERLIN - Bayern Munich will be without injured striker Ivica Olic for six weeks after the Croat picked up a calf injury during training last week, the club said on Monday.

Olic was injured on Friday while training with Croatia ahead of World Cup qualifiers, with doctors in Germany on Sunday diagnosing a calf muscle tear, the club said.

Bayern are already without Dutch attacking midfielder Arjen Robben, who underwent knee surgery, and playmaker Franck Ribery, out with a knee injury yet again.

Bayern have made a slow start to the Bundesliga season and are in eighth place after eight games, eight points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
