Bergougnoux goal sends Toulouse second

PARIS - Toulouse moved up to second in Ligue 1 after a late goal by striker Bryan Bergougnoux earned a 1-1 draw at AJ Auxerre on Saturday.

Toulouse have 46 points from 26 games, six adrift of leaders Olympique Lyon who host Stade Rennes on Sunday.

Auxerre, who have now gone five matches without defeat, went ahead in the 23rd minute through Polish striker Ireneusz Jelen.

Toulouse, unbeaten in 10 league games, levelled nine minutes from time with a volley from substitute Bergougnoux.

Elsewhere, sixth-placed Lille lost 2-0 at lowly Valenciennes after goals from Gael Danic and Jean Claude Darcheville.

Paris St Germain, in third spot on the same points as Toulouse, entertain Nancy on Sunday.

Olympique Marseille, in fourth, also travel to Caen while fifth-placed Girondins Bordeaux host Lorient.
