Former Scotland manager Craig Brown agreed to become Scottish Premier League club Motherwell's manager on an interim basis on Tuesday.

Brown, 69, takes over at Fir Park following Jim Gannon's sacking on Monday which followed a run of bad results which has left the club without a win since October.

Brown, who coached Scotland from 1993-2001, last managed at Preston North End from 2002 until 2004 and will stay with Motherwell until the club appoint a full-time manager.

"In the short-term I am effectively the manager of the club and my colleague Archie (Knox) will be with me," said Brown.
