Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh's proposed move to Arsenal may be back on, according to France Football journalist Philippe Auclair. The 25-year-old, who has earned 50 caps for Morocco scoring 15 goals, netted 13 times in Ligue 1 to help secure a first league crown in 10 years for les Girondins. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland were all believed to be chasing the highly-rated forward, with Chamakh admitting he would be leaving Bordeaux at the end of the season, only to change his mind following the club's league title success. "I will stay here next season, I want to be part of the club," he told skysports.com at the beginning of June. "I like the team spirit here. It is true I wanted to leave and I want to realise my dream of playing in the Premier League, but I owe something back to Bordeaux. "I will stay next season. I want to be part of this great team and we are looking forward to next year's Champions League." However, Auclair has now reportedly told Talksport that Chamakh is close to agreeing a deal with Arsene Wenger's side.
