Chimbonda rejoins Spurs, Wigan bag Rodallega

France defender Pascal Chimbonda has returned to Tottenham Hotspur, six months after leaving the club to join Sunderland.

"I'm delighted to have him," Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "He can cover right across the back line."

Full back Chimbonda joins striker Jermain Defoe back at White Hart Lane after he also returned to Spurs this month after being sold to Portsmouth last January.

Wigan Athletic have signed Colombia international striker Hugo Rodallega from Mexican club Necaxa for an undisclosed fee, the club's website said.

The 23-year-old signed a three and a half year contract. Rodallega is the second addition to Wigan's attack during January after Egypt's Mido joined on loan last week from Premier League rivals Middlesbrough.
