Cole happy in "best squad"

Ashley Cole has described this seasons Chelsea squad as the best one since he signed in 2005.

After scoring in the Blues’ 3-0 hammering of Tottenham Hotspur, Cole said “I think this is the best squad, best team and best spirit since I have been here.”

Cole doesn’t have the best record in front of goal, managing just two in a Chelsea shirt before Sunday’s diving header, but he couldn’t have been happier about notching one up against his London rivals.

“In a Chelsea shirt it is very rare – I think I have scored three in my career, but this was a special one against our rivals, and at home so I am delighted,”

The England international also spoke of the unity between the players at Stamford Bridge, and revealed his hopes that this could be Chelsea’s year.

“John Terry won the title here so it's maybe not as good as that yet, but we are all together and always stick together and fight for each other. Hopefully that will take us over the line.”
