Ecuador to play South Korea in Seoul

SEOUL - South Korea will play a friendly international against Ecuador in Seoul on May 16 as part of their preparations for the World Cup finals.

"South Korea and Ecuador agreed to hold a friendly, though we haven't signed a contract yet," an official at the Korea Football Association told the Yonhap news agency.

The South Koreans have been drawn against South American powerhouse Argentina in Group B at the June 11-July 11 finals in South Africa.

Nigeria and Greece round out the first round group and the Koreans have already lined up friendlies against Ivory Coast in March, Japan in May and Spain in June, Yonhap said.
