Fenerbahce mull Ruud move

Former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy – linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal since the summer – is now wanted by Turkish giants Fenerbahce, according to reports.

The Dutchman has been plagued by injury during the last year and his time at Real Madrid appears to be limited.

Van Nistelrooy has featured just once for Madrid this season, with the acquisition of Karim Benzema from Lyon further hampering his first-team chances.

And, according to Takvim, Christoph Daum’s side are now keen to sign the 33-year-old during the January transfer window, to team him up with former Real defender Roberto Carlos and Spanish international Dani Guiza.

Van Nistelrooy netted over 150 goals during his time in England and will be aiming to rediscover his prolific form to force his way into the Holland squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
