Ferrer to run for Barcelona presidency

MADRID - Barcelona vice president Jaume Ferrer plans to stand for the presidency of the club in an election due to be held next year.

"I have the conviction and desire to present a candidacy to win the election," Ferrer told Catalunya Radio on Wednesday.

Alfons Godall, another of the club's five vice presidents, is also planning to mount a bid to replace Joan Laporta when he steps down at the end of June, Catalunya Radio reported.
