A day after completing the £56m capture of Kaka from AC Milan, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said Cristiano Ronaldo is his next target. The current holder of the Ballon d'Or has been a long-term target for the Spanish giants, with Manchester United managing to resist their advances up to this point. After years of speculation, Perez's desire to take Real Madrid back to the top of European football may be enough for the English champions to part with the Portugal international. In an interview with Radio Marca, Perez claimed "Kaka is (just) the first signing. I will do everything possible to get Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid." In signing Kaka and attempting to sign Ronaldo, Perez intends to "follow the path Santiago Bernabeu marked out for us; the best players in the world, the best in Spain and, with them, the best from the youth set-up."
