Spurs boss Harry Redknapp was spotted in Italy on Tuesday night, reportedly preparing a swoop for Inter’s out-of-favour Brazilian striker Adriano. The Tottenham manager was in attendance for Inter’s 3-1 Italian Cup triumph over Genoa, watching his target score with a header on 75 minutes. Reports suggest that Adriano may move to White Hart lane on an initial loan deal, with a view to a permanent transfer. Gareth Bale may also be used as a make-weight in any deal. The Brazilian striker has been linked with a move away from San Siro ever since Jose Mourinho revealed he was prepared to let the 6ft 2in forward leave, following a string of poor performances and indiscipline. Adriano initially flourished after swapping Parma for Inter in 2004, quickly becoming one of the most feared strikers in Europe. However, his form has deserted him in recent years and his problems with alcoholism have seen his stock fall dramatically. Spurs have only recently signed Jermain Defoe for £15m, but remain in the market for another striker, having also been linked with a move for West Ham hit-man Craig Bellamy.
