Hildebrand joins German leaders Hoffenheim

BERLIN - Hoffenheim have signed former Stuttgart goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand following his departure from Valencia, the German club said on Wednesday.

Promoted Hoffenheim, who top the Bundesliga on goal difference from Bayern Munich, said on their website that 29-year-old Hildebrand would be presented at a news conference later on Wednesday.

The former Germany keeper made a name for himself with some impressive performances during Stuttgart's 2003-4 Champions League campaign before joining Valencia in 2007.

He left the Spanish club by mutual consent last week after becoming third choice under coach Unai Emery.
