Hodgson signs new Fulham deal

LONDON - Manager Roy Hodgson has signed a new 12-month rolling contract with Fulham after consolidating last season's improvement with a strong start to this campaign.

"I have always stated my desire to remain at the club and continue the good work that has been achieved over the past two years," Hodgson told the Premier League club's website on Wednesday.

The Londoners are ninth in the table with wins over Manchester United and Liverpool to their credit and have also qualified for the knockout stage of the Europa League.

Hodgson has transformed the club from relegation candidates to European campaigners since he took over from Lawrie Sanchez in December 2007. Last season's seventh-place finish was their highest in the top flight.
