Ireland assistant to whisper Italian anthem

Ireland assistant coach Marco Tardelli, one of Italy's best-known former internationals, has said he will whisper the Italian national anthem when the Azzurri host the Irish in a World Cup qualifier in Bari on Wednesday. Giovanni Trapatonni takes his side to his homeland following Saturday's disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Bulgaria knowing a surprise win against Marcello Lippi's men will see the Irish usurp the reigning World Cup champions into top spot of Group Eight.
