Jeandupeux takes Le Mans reins

PARIS - Former Switzerland coach Daniel Jeandupeux took charge at Le Mans on Monday in place of Yves Bertucci.

"Yves said he needed assistance to manage the squad," president Henri Legarda told the Ligue 1 club's website. "After this request I have decided to name Daniel Jeandupeux as coach until the end of the season."

Legarda added Bertucci would serve as assistant coach.

Le Mans, who have lost four times and drawn once in their last five league matches, dropped to 13th after going down 2-0 at home to Nantes at the weekend.

Jeandupeux, 59, coached Switzerland from 1986-89 and has been a special adviser to Legarda since 2004.
