MADRID - Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni has not dismissed the idea of staying at the Primera Liga outfit next season despite a host of clubs expressing a serious interest in signing him.
"Once the season is over we'll see what happens but what I can assure you is that I am leaving a door open to continuing at the club," the Cameroon international said in an interview with Wednesday's As newspaper.
Asked how many clubs were interested in signing him, he said "between five and seven" and added that his representatives at sports management firm IMG were handling the negotiations.
Espanyol are four points above the relegation places with two games left.
Several Premier League outfits, including Tottenham Hotspur, Blackburn and Newcastle have been linked with a move for the Cameroonian stopper in the past, as have Portuguese giants Benfica and French league leaders Bordeaux.
