Kiessling out of Schalke showdown

BERLIN - Bundesliga top scorer Stefan Kiessling will miss Bayer Leverkusen's Bundesliga match against title rivals Schalke 04 on Saturday after pulling a thigh muscle, the club said on Monday.

Kiessling, who tops the scoring charts with 16 goals this season, was injured in his team's 3-0 defeat by Borussia Dortmund.

Leverkusen, who are third in the standings, said their other key striker Eren Derdiyok, who has netted 12 times, was also suffering from a muscle injury and could be doubtful for the game against second-placed Schalke.
