Kleber claims Liverpool interest

Cruzeiro striker Kleber says Liverpool are interested in signing him this summer. The 25-year-old has netted an astonishing 19 goals in as many appearances since returning to his native Brazil in February from Ukraine, where he spent four years with Dynamo Kiev, scoring 28 times in 68 outings.

However, the former Sao Paulo man could soon be heading back to European shores, after he revealed Rafael Benitez is keen on acquiring his services during the close season to help fire the Reds to their first Premier League title in 2009/10.

"I have a proposal from Liverpool for 7 million euro. We are analysing," he said on SporTV's Arena show.

"I want to stay. If Cruzeiro offer the same amount, or we talk, I'd prefer to stay. But we haven't talked yet."
