RIGA - Latvia striker Maris Verpakovskis scored one goal and set up the other in his team's 2-0 win over Luxembourg in their World Cup Group Two qualifier on Wednesday. Jurijs Zigajevs opened the scoring a minute before halftime from a pass by Verpakovskis. Verpakovskis then put the result beyond doubt 15 minutes from full-time. Luxembourg struggled against the Latvian defence and did not pose any serious threat to home keeper Andis Vanins.
