Liverpool not on Hunt for Aaron

Liverpool are not interested in signing Werder Bremen starlet Aaron Hunt, according to reports.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also operate on the wing, has made 85 league appearances for Bremen since graduating from the club's youth ranks in 2004 - netting 15 times.

The German U21 international, who has won 11 caps, has been linked with a move to Anfield in the past, with talk of a transfer intensifying in recent weeks after the youngster netted three goals in as many games for the Weserstadion outfit.

Recent reports claimed that Rafael Benitez was weighing up a move for the midfielder - who has an English mother and is still eligible to play for England - with perennial substitute Ryan Babel to be offered as part of the deal.

However, according to the Liverpool Echo, the club have distanced themselves from speculation tipping them to sign Hunt, with the publication adding that the Reds are not planning to make any significant signings in the January transfer window.
