Porto forward Lisandro Lopez could be set for a summer switch to the Premier League, according to his agent. The 26-year-old Argentine - who has been capped six times by his country - has scored eight goals in 26 league appearances for the Portuguese champions this season.
But the former Racing Club striker has made the headlines in 2008/09 predominantly due to his European form, netting six times in 10 Champions League outings - including one against Arsenal in the group phase - to help guide the club to the quarter-finals. And Lopez's agent, Fernando Hidalgo, has claimed that a string of English outfits are now interested in securing the striker's signature at the end of the season, with cash-rich Manchester City believed to be one of them. "It is certain that some clubs are interested in Europe. I have transmitted the subject to Porto and now we wait for their decision," he told Radio Renaiscensa.
"They are big clubs and that is normal because Lisandro has had a sensational season in Portugal and the Champions League."comments
