JERUSALEM - Maccabi Haifa clinched the Israeli Premier League title after they beat Maccabi Netanya 2-0 on Saturday to take an unassailable lead at the top. The title was Haifa's 11th and their first since they won a hat-trick of crowns between 2003-06. They will attempt to win the double for the second time on Tuesday when they meet dethroned champions Beitar Jerusalem in the Israeli State Cup final. The Haifa supporters' celebrations at Maccabi Netanya's compact stadium were muted compared to recent years which had been marred by pitch invasions. Haifa, who have one game remaining, are on 66 points from 32 matches, eight more than Hapoel Tel Aviv who have two to play.
