LONDON - English championship team Queens Park Rangers have appointed Jim Magilton as their new manager, the club said on Wednesday. The 40-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the London club which was bought by Renault Formula One boss Flavio Briatore in 2007. "The board are highly ambitious, but they are very realistic at the same time. I have huge ambitions to achieve as a manager, and our aim is to keep progressing, year after year," Magilton told the club website. Magilton, sacked as manager of championship side Ipswich Town in April, replaces former Portugal international Paula Sousa.
