The 27-year-old scored 25 goals in La Liga last season and becomes City's third new recruit of the summer under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Negredo's departure was announced by the Spanish club on Wednesday and the Premier League runners-up confirmed on Friday that he will follow compatriot - and former Sevilla team-mate - Jesus Navas to the Etihad Stadium.
City's new signing brings an appetite for goals that will excite fans. In fact, only Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Radamel Falcao scored more goals in La Liga than him last season and, during his four years at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Negredo netted 70 goals in 139 appearances.
He was given his international debut by Vincente Del Bosque in 2009 and has picked up 14 caps in total, scoring six times.
The forward will join up with City's squad on their pre-season tour and is set to compete with Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero for a starting place in attack for the club. Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic is also reportedly close to sealing a switch to the Premier League runners-up.comments
