More injury woe for Eduardo

Arsenal striker Eduardo will miss the visit of Blackburn Rovers at the weekend after picking up a groin problem. The 25-year-old sustained the injury during the first half of extra-time in the Gunners' Champions League last 16 clash with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday, and went on to miss his penalty in the shootout, which Arsene Wenger's side eventually won 7-6. Eduardo has only recently returned to first-team action after 11 months out of the game with a broken leg and dislocated ankle, and suffered a minor hamstring injury following his first game back, a 4-0 FA Cup win over Cardiff in which he netted twice. “Unfortunately we have lost Eduardo with a groin problem," said Wenger. “He got it in the first half of extra time and I wonder if that stopped him from taking his penalty that well. “It shows you that no matter what you do in training when you go to the uncontrolled movements of top, top level competition your body needs time to adjust. "It is only a short-term injury but he is out for Saturday.”
