Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has dismissed reports that he is interested in signing David Beckham, but admitted he is keen on recruiting Portsmouth forward Peter Crouch. The England international is expected to leave the USA on another loan deal in January during the Major League Soccer off-season, with the 34-year-old being linked with moves to Spurs, Manchester City, Chelsea and AC Milan. However, Redknapp has now rejected claims that he is eyeing up a move to bring the former England captain to White Hart Lane.
“I don't know where that has come from," he said.
"David Beckham is a fantastic player, an amazing professional but there is no truth in that.
"We don't know David's situation as we have not made an enquiry and we don't know where that has started from."
But the Spurs boss did confirm interest in Crouch, who is also a reported target for Fulham.
"Crouchy, I have signed several times, and if Portsmouth want to sell we could be interested," he said.
"It depends on everything about price etc, but everyone has their price and it would be up to the chairman and Portsmouth to sort out a price. I love Crouchy but we will have to wait and see."
