Atletico Madrid coach Abel Resino has rubbished reports linking Argentine striker Sergio Aguero with a switch to Chelsea.
The 21-year-old, who has netted 42 league goals in 112 appearances for the rojiblancos since arriving from Independiente in 2006, has previously been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge and Inter Milan earlier this summer.
Later reports suggested Premier League champions Manchester United were keen on acquiring the Argentina international's services as they attempt to find a replacement for Real Madrid-bound FIFA World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo. While the Red Devils' North West rivals Liverpool are believed to be interested in the front-man, along with Valencia goal-getter David Villa, as they seek support for talisman Fernando Torres.
The latest addition to this ongoing transfer saga has now suggested that Carlo Ancelotti's side are plotting a mega-money move for the diminutive front-man before the end of August, after Atletico president Enrique Cerezo revealed that only a bid of €60 million would tempt him into selling his prize asset.
However, after watching Aguero net at Anfield against Liverpool at the weekend, coach Resino insisted he knew nothing of any interest in the forward.
"As far as i know we have not had any bids for Aguero," he said.comments
