Serie A giants Roma will renew their interest in Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy in January, according to reports.
The 33-year-old Dutchman has netted 46 league goals in 64 appearances since arriving from Manchester United in 2006.
However, having spent almost a year on the sidelines following knee surgery, the prolific striker has slipped down the pecking order at the Bernabeu, with Raul, Gonzalo Higuain and summer signings Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo preferred in attack by coach Manuel Pellegrini.
The Stadio Olimpico side, as well Premier League pair Tottenham Hotspur and Blackburn Rovers, were linked with moves for the front-man - who scored 95 goals in 150 outings for United from 2001-06 - earlier this summer.
And, according to Puntosport.net, Giallorossi president Rosella Sensi is in talks with director Daniele Prade over signing a new striker during the winter transfer window, with Van Nistelrooy top of their wish-list ahead of AC Milan forward Marco Borriello and former Lyon goal-getter Fred.
