MADRID - Cristiano Ronaldo is confident Real Madrid can beat Olympique Lyon for the first time in the Champions League, when his side travel to France for their last-16 first leg next Tuesday.
"We are changing all these things this season. We hadn't won in 18 years at Deportivo La Coruna's Riazor stadium (until two weeks ago)," the Portugal winger told sports daily Marca on Friday.
"If we want to win the competition we can't afford to lose there."
In their two previous ties, both in the group stages, Lyon won the home legs in 2005 and 2006, and drew twice at the Bernabeu.
