Shevchenko unhurt after car collision

KIEV - Former AC Milan and Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko, Ukraine's most famous player, was unhurt after being involved in a car accident on Thursday, Ukrainian media said.

The 33-year-old, voted Ukrainian Footballer of the Year six times, was at the wheel of his Porsche when it was involved in a collision with a Honda car not far from the centre of the capital, Kiev, websites of main Ukrainian news agencies reported.

Photographs published on the websites showed Shevchenko beside his black Porsche which had a dent in the offside wing.

Former European Footballer of the Year Shevchenko returned to play for his home club Dynamo Kiev in August after 10 years away that included spells at Chelsea and AC Milan.
