Shirt outdated? Carling have got your back...

Carling have teamed up with fan favourite Jimmy Bullard to launch a nationwide shirt amnesty scheme.

It’s a familiar tale for many a football fan. You purchase your team’s latest strip, as ritual dictates you do at the beginning of every season.

Then, having already spent a fortune, you convince yourself that getting your favourite player’s name printed on the back of your new pride and joy is somehow both a good idea and financially viable.

But then, disaster strikes. The player whose name you've chosen decides to up sticks and move on. His name is now mud to your fellow fans – yet you’re the fool with a traitor’s name on his back. The shirt is now buried in the deepest, darkest corner of your cupboard, never to see the light of day again.

However, this unfortunate saga could now be a thing of the past. To celebrate the new season, Carling are launching a nationwide shirt amnesty scheme, offering fans the chance to swap their old shirts with the name of a recently sold player on the back for a brand new one, completely free.

The whole scheme is being run out the back of a van – but don’t worry, it’s not Del Boy dodgy. The shirt amnesty van is on the road now and heading your way.

Getting your new shirt couldn’t be easier. If the shirt amnesty van pitches up near you, take your old rag that's been tarnished by the name of your departed hero and swap it for a shiny new shirt, fresh out of the back of their vehicle.

Carling have joined forces with Jimmy Bullard, formerly of Fulham and Hull, but more recently seen chomping on bugs on I’m A Celebrity...

The ex-England squad member said: “I was in the game long enough to know what it’s like for fans to have players jog on unexpectedly, so anything that gives back to them is a winner in my eyes.”
