Silva reveals Premier League approach

Valencia midfielder David Silva has revealed that a Premier League club made a move for him during the close-season.

Silva and team-mate David Villa were continually linked with a move away from Los Che over the summer, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Juventus all tipped to land the 23-year-old midfielder, who has made 90 league outings for Valencia.

A move for either player failed to materialse prior to the transfer window slamming shut, with the cash-stapped club securing a €74 million loan to safeguard their short-term future.

However, the Spanish international has since admitted that an English club attempted to secure his services, but were left disappointed as the midfielder opted to remain in Spain.

"It is true that there was a bid from a big English club," he said in the News of the World.

"If it was only a question of money then I would have accepted the move.

"Things can change in the future but right now, I am happy in Valencia and I did not have sufficient motive to leave."
