Sol Campbell quits Notts County

Sol Campbell has quit Notts County after playing just one match for the League Two outfit

The 35-year-old centre back has reportedly made the surprising decision to walk away from County just weeks after signing a lucrative five-year deal with the club.

Campbell struggled in his debut as County were defeated 2-1 at Morecambe on Saturday, and it is reported that the former England international asked Magpies chiefs to be released from his contract following the match.

The club are said to be keen to persuade him to continue.
