Taylor follows Barry to Manchester City

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has made goalkeeper Stuart Taylor his second signing from Aston Villa this month, City said on Tuesday.

"This is a fantastic club to be joining, a club that is going places with a great new owner and a manager I have a lot of respect for," Taylor told the City website.

The former Arsenal and England Under-21 player follows ex-Villa captain Gareth Barry to Eastlands and will provide cover for Ireland international and City's number one choice Shay Given.

Taylor's arrival will allow Hughes to arrange a loan deal for City's current England Under-21 goalkeeper Joe Hart.
