Ten-man Ghana win U20 World Cup

CAIRO - Ghana won the world under-20 championship for the first time on Friday, beating Brazil on penalties after playing with 10 men for more than an hour.

The Africans held on for a goalless draw after extra-time and then won the shootout 4-3 when Brazil missed three penalties in a row.

Ghana had Daniel Addo sent off in the 37th minute for scything down Alex Teixeira near the half-way line.
