Liverpool striker Fernando Torres will miss the Reds' league clash with Sunderland on Tuesday night, although captain Steven Gerrard is expected to play after overcoming cramp.
Torres is still struggling with the ankle injury sustained in the 1-0 Champions League victory against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night, and subsequently missed the defeat to Middlesbrough at the weekend.
And El Nino is now set to miss a second match for Rafael Benitez's men, while defenders Alvaro Arbeloa and Daniel Agger are also sidelined. "Stevie was OK and will hopefully be available tomorrow," Benitez told the club's official website. "Torres is not ready yet. We have to wait to see how he progresses but he won't be in the squad. Arbeloa has a problem with his hamstring. He's had the problem before. It could be another week."
