Tulio set for Nagoya move

TOKYO - Japan defender Tulio is poised to join Nagoya Grampus after falling out with senior officials at former J-League champions Urawa Reds.

The 28-year-old centre-back had been linked with clubs in Europe and the Middle East but was likely to accept Nagoya's more lucrative financial terms, Japanese media reported on Monday.

Relations between Tulio and Reds officials soured after he blasted the club's transfer policy following the sale of fellow Brazilian-born player Alex to Nagoya in August.

The outspoken Tulio spent six seasons at Japan's best-supported club Urawa, helping them win their first J-League title in 2006 and the Asian Champions League in 2007.
