United to make move for Muslera

Manchester United are keen on recruiting Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera to succeed Edwin van der Sar at Old Trafford, according to reports in Italy.

The 23-year-old shot-stopper has made 24 Serie A appearances for the Biancocelesti  since arriving from Montevideo Wanderers in his native Uruguay in 2007.

And the 6ft 3in glove-man, who has been called up by his national team but yet to earn his first cap, is now being monitored by Sir Alex Ferguson with a view to signing him next summer, according to Sportal.it

The Red Devils have been linked with several stoppers this summer - with 38-year-old Dutchman Van der Sar expected to retire in 12 month's time - including Russian international Igor Akinfeev and Schalke custodian Manuel Neuer.
