Arsenal starlet Carlos Vela is a target for la Liga minnows Xerez, according to reports.
The 20-year-old Mexican international has made 14 league appearances for the Gunners since arriving in 2005, with his first-team opportunities mainly limited to Carling Cup outings.
With Emmanuel Adebayor departing to Manchester City, the youngster was hoping to be handed the chance to nail down a regular berth in the Gunners' forward line in 2009/10.
However, he has so far only featured in Arsenal's 2-0 League Cup win over West Bromwich Albion, netting in the 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium.
And having already spent loan spells in Spain with Celta Vigo, Salamanca and Osasuna, newly-promoted Xerez - who have yet to score a single goal in their opening five league games - are believed to be keen on securing his services.
“We are looking to bring in a forward who can stop the lack of goals in the team," said a club spokesman, as reported by Sky Sports.
“We are assessing our options in the European market and it is possible that Carlos [Vela] may arrive in the winter market.”comments
