Arsenal whiz-kid Theo Walcott says Emmanuel Adabayor’s wonder strike at Villarreal will spur the team on to the Champions League semi finals. The 20-year-old revealed that his Togolese team-mates equaliser in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at El Madrigal was one of the greatest goals scored in the competition, and insists that it should now prove to be the swaying factor in Arsenal’s progression to the semi-finals. “It was probably one of the best goals I have seen in the Champions League, a special goal from a special player," he said.
"Hopefully that can spur us on into the next round.” And although Walcott was quick to praise Adebayor for his spectacular strike in Spain, the former Southampton starlet also reiterated the substantial threat that Villarreal will pose when Manuel Pellegrini's side visit the Emirates Stadium for the return leg next week. “They are a very dangerous team on the break, they pass the ball very well and Marcos Senna has got a brilliant shot on him," he said.
"We have got to track him down and not let him have those situations again.”
