Zaragoza release Ayala

MADRID - Real Zaragoza have agreed to release former Argentina defender Roberto Ayala from his contract, the struggling La Liga club said on their website on Friday.

The 36-year-old, who has played for several clubs including AC Milan, joined Zaragoza from Valencia in 2007.

He won 115 caps before retiring from international football.

Zaragoza, second from bottom in La Liga, also said they had taken Recreativo Huelva striker Adrian Colunga on loan until the end of the season, with forward Braulio moving the opposite way.
