2015 MSL Team of the Week: Gameweek 22

FourFourTwo Malaysia picks the best performers from the final gameweek of the 2015 Malaysian Super League!

  • Goalkeeper

Despite Pahang constantly attacking Terengganu to keep their slim title chances alive, they found Sharbinee Allawee difficult to beat as the goalkeeper was at his sharpest in the East Coast derby.

  • Defenders

Following the sending off of Junior Eldstal, S. Kunanlan had to work harder to cover the gaps in defence, while not forgetting his attacking duties.

Although Perak dominated the ball possession against Selangor, they could not turn it into goal-scoring chances due to the excellent partnership of Shahrom Kalam and Bunyamin Umar. For 90 minutes, the Bos Gaurus barely had a sniff at goal.

Hafiz Sujad added another goal to his tally in the LionsXII’s comfortable win at the Jalan Besar Stadium. The left-back made an overlapping run before curling a fantastic effort into the back of the net in 73rd minute.

  • Midfielders

Christopher Van Huizen made good use of his rare start for the LionsXII as he set up two of his team’s goals in the 3-0 home win over Sime Darby.

Terengganu captain Ahmad Nordin Alias led by example on Saturday, tirelessly closing down on the Pahang players and protecting the back four.

Felda United were off to a blistering start in the match against JDT, and it was thanks to Zah Rahan Krangar. The Liberian midfielder was involved in both of his team’s goals in the opening 10 minutes.

Against Sarawak, Kelantan’s Noor Hazrul Mustafa once again showcased his long ball ability as he scored an impressive lob from the touchline in the 11th minute and helped set up a few counter-attacks throughout the match.

  • Forwards

Playing upfront alongside Issey Nakajima-Farran, Ashari Samsudin worked in tandem with the Canada international and made a nuisance of himself in Pahang’s penalty box.

With two goals to his name, Billy Mehmet almost helped Sarawak to record a famous comeback against Kelantan. He also played a role in the Crocs’ first goal, which was scored by K. Partiban.
